Prime Minister Heads To Commonwealth Heads Of Government In Trinidad

Prime Minister Tillman Thomas, will hold bilateral meetings with leaders from India, South Africa, Britain and Canada when he attends the 23rd meeting of the Commonwealth Heads of Government (CHOGM) this week, in Trinidad.

The purpose of the bilateral meetings is to attempt to strengthen relations between Grenada and these countries.

Prime Minister Thomas, who left the island yesterday, is leading a 4-member delegation to CHOGM which is expected to focus primarily on climate change, as countries prepare for the world summit in Copenhagen next month.

Grenada’s delegation to CHOGM includes Foreign Minister, Peter David, Advisor to the Prime Minister, Aaron Moses and Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Ministry, Ann Isaac.

Minister for Finance, Nazim Burke, has been appointed acting Prime Minister.
